Reach the Beach!

We did it again...for the 2nd year running!

After our 1st experience, Jimmy vowed never to do Reach the Beach again. We had 7 people and together, ran 200+ miles. Ouch.

But lo and behold, Lisa is sneaky and always gets Jimmy to do things against his will.

This year, we had a team of 11 and not surprisingly it was much less painful! For those that are not familiar, Reach the Beach is a 36-leg relay race that starts in Franconia Notch in Northern NH and ends down at Hampton Beach...which is practically bordering MA. The crazy part is that you are either running or on the go for about 24 hours straight...and someone is running at all times of the day/night! Imagine running a 6 mile leg sometime around 3:30am through the backwoods of New Hampshire with a team van following you - that's Reach the Beach.

Check out the Reach the Beach website for more details.

BTW - thanks to everyone for asking about Jimmy's family in Houston. They are doing fine, though approximately half are without power. His mom's house has a hole in the roof, however, from a skylight that blew off. Let's hope things return to normal soon...
